Sistra!

Guess what! Me and Ox went to another concert. It seems like the only thing we do if you go by just this blog. We went to see the Scissor Sisters perform at Sound Academy.

The show was lots of fun. The fact that most of the crowd was gay was strangely fun. It made it the nicest most energized concert. Nobody shoved, in fact nobody touched unless tehy were together, and everybody was dancing and loose.

Because the venue is at the docks we enjoyed a stunning view of the city that you dont get from anywhere else.

It looks so tiny in this photo.

Trip to story land

Last Sunday my sis took me and dad to the theater. Mom was supposed to come but alas she likes making newlyweds happy. We drove to Stratford for the annual Shakespear fest.

Ox got us tickets to see Dagerous Liasons. It was an awesome play; really well acted, amazing costumes, and a tad provocative. Just as it should be.

After we went for din din and a walk around the park.

The next day myslef, Ulchik, Yana, Stan, and Murray went camping. I came back with mad sunburn. Ah the carefree life.

Living like it shines

I have no idea what that post title means…. whoop!!!

My camera is still not in my possession. This means trusty phone to the rescue.

Out of the blue today I was inspired to play a little dress up. I purchased this sequin monstrosity at an H&M sale in the beginning of summer. It makes me look HUGE.

Today I wanted to give it a chance and see how I can work it into my closet. Here is what I came up with.

I introduce the about town look. The only thing about it is that I wish the maxi skirt was longer.

Skirt -> Zara, jewelery -> vintage, booties -> Jeffrey Campbell, belt -> H&M

This is the night out look-ish. I am absolutely in love with this vintage slip thing I got a few weeks back. Everyone else says its what grandmas sleep in. Boo hoo.

Belt -> French Connection

How can I not style something with a jean shirt? That would be plain rude.

shirt -> Bluenotes

My next investment is going to be a sweet new camera. I really need one.

musical minds

Its been a long time since I did a music post. Well, a post that was music and nothing else. The actual  reason for this being a music post is that my camera is in the trunk on my friend’s car and has been there for almost a month. Kind of hard to take pictures of myself with an iPhone.

Two weeks ago myself, Stan, Irma, Stephanie and other girls (friends of Stan), went to see MGMT. It was a wickedly relaxing and psychedelic show. The background screen animations were so trippy that the entire show I stared at them and dances around like I was on stuff. Here are some photos I took. Too bad the girls weren’t up for squeezing to the front.

Notice the sea of cameras and phones glowing in the foreground.

Last week I took Oxana to see Dragonette. I was originally supposed to go with Alisenok, but she is sick so sister to the rescue. She ended up loving it. Dragonette is amazing live. Not a single person stand still the whole night. The concert in photos below.

Martina wore an awesome shirt! I want one just like that.

Here are some MGMT and Dragonette tunes to simmer the mood –>

MGMT – ELectric Feel

MGMT – Siberian Breaks [part 1] (Stan loves this song, and live it had a crazy bass)

Dragonette – Fixin to thrill

Dragonette – Pick up the Phone

Dragonette – Marvelous

of LOVE and Castles

Last night was Di & Danny’s wedding. Lets just say the amount of love and fun present was overwhelming. Here are some events that took place.

The venue was a beautiful castle (or as close as something can be in Canada) that was formerly the residence of an influential family, till they went bankrupt.

The ceremony was outside in the back yard facing the lake. Truly a stunning view.

It was so cute seeing Danny get more and more flustered as the time for Di to come down came closer. Both of them looked stunningly surreal. Now I know why everyone always looks happy on wedding photos. Its hard not to be. The wave of happiness was so huge that the entire guest body was smiling ear to ear.

The sun came out to shower them with love, energy and warmth just as they were doing their nuptials.

The following photo so clearly shows that atmosphere of the day that its scary. Grinning like a maniac.

The pretty bridesmaids in a closeup. They braved the sun very well. (Gabi, Oxana, Denisa)

The wedding cake was awesome!!!

After the receiving line mostly everyone went down to take pictured by the lake and D&D were getting theirs taken.

That’s me and the girls. Turned out that in addition to the wedding having a blue theme, a lot of the guests showed up in blue as well. We tried hard not to clump blues in the pictures. (me, Simona, Yvonne, Isabelle)

My sis Oxana was a bridesmaid. It was so touching to see her looking so pretty and enjoying herself so much.

Ox leaping in front of the castle.

After everyone went in the D’s had their first dance among the fog. It was breathtaking.

Then there was delicious dinner, mingling and lots of fun dancing. There were rooms in the castle to stay overnight. Quite a few people stayed. It was awesome to see the wedding party in the morning. Happiness the so the word fitting Di and Danny.

P.S. I’ve been to busy to go on my lappy, or do much of anything. Working hard on planning my work and working my plan.

Das ist fantastisch

On the weekend me and Ox met up with Di and her girls to drive over to Montreal for her Bachelorette party. It was loads if fun. The first night we dressed up as hula girls in white t-shirts and water guns. Lots of dancing and all around fun.

The next day we all went out for breakfast at Chez Cora. There we met a bachelor party with the main man in this outrageous ‘lady’ getup.

The food was as always the best and the fact that there was 10 hot girls at one table never hurts. Here is Oxana’s food eating Di’s food.

We then proceeded to walk around Quebec with the waterfront in mind. It then began to rain so we chose to stay in this commerce court with a sick infinity pool style fountain. There is also a piece of the Berlin wall in there. Here is me and my big bum bum attempting to recreate history.

Me and Ox separated from the girls who went to La Ronde, to see our friend Katya. The sporadic rain made the day that much more fun. We had dinner at the restaurant Continental on St.Denis if I’m not wrong. The food was impeccable. On our return to the hotel we joined the girls in going out for the main event at club 747 (on the top floor of a skyscraper). The theme was punk chick. We had enormous fun with the girls making Di do crazy dares. The massive amount of good looking men was definitely an added bonus.

The next day I big the girls adios and bussed it to Quebec city. Once I got there I had a bit of time to spare and strolled through the market in the old port. I ran across a Titanic exhibition there which I absolutely had to see. It was very well put together and definitely painted the whole story for me.

From there I took a reminiscing walk through Old Quebec. I of course stopped by Simons as well as the best gelato place in the city. Then I took a detour by the bakery down the street to pick up some amazingly delicious macaroons. I ate them while sitting in front of the Simons fountain by Quebec parliament.

From there I met up with my friend Anya and her friends. We went to the hotel which was right on Grand Allee and straight to dinner. Then we beelined for the concert. We caught most of Appocaliptica. I most certainly recommend seeing them. They are true innovative geniuses.

This is the back half of the 100 000 strong crowd that came out for the Rammstein concert. It is of course I that is rocking out in front.

Here are the girls enjoying the beer.

At this point I bid temporary adieu to the ladies and beelined for the front to mosh with the wild people. I was not completely there when the concert began since I had to get past a lot of people.

By the time I got to the very front and center I did something to my phone and it wouldn’t take pictures. It didn’t matter much since the concert itself was one of the best I’ve been to. The pyromania was so close I got cropped dot burns on my face and shoulder. We also got soaked from a ‘cannon’  with ‘foam’.

The next morning it turned out that my friend Anya disappeared and left no note. She came at night drunk took her stuff and left. We were really worried but had to leave to we called police and hospital and anyone we knew to check if she was ok since her phone was dead. We figured she was with some guys she met and exhausted all our options before having to head back home. She ended up calling us all ‘oh I forgot to tell you guys’ once we almost made it back to Toronto.

Then after a few detours I took the train home and it was involved in a ‘pedestrian incident’ with a delay of 2 hours. What a wild way to top off the weekend of fun and craziness.

Next weekend is Pittsburgh but I am rather sure it will be much more tame.

My ‘Royal’ lover

I recently pulled my back and took it easy for a bit. My dog Roy is loving it. He cuddles and follows me around everywhere. I of course use this time to catch him in his most embarrassing moments. Here is what I have paparazzied so far.

Roy absolutely loves going over to Stan’s house.

He sleeps like this everywhere. I bet right now he’s sleeping like that on the couch.

Roy is not a huge dog and yet he completely takes over my bed. Smack dab in the middle of it and no room left for me.

I have had some wild fun stuff happen recently. Must write about that a.s.a.p. I should also probably spend a bit more time on my laptop, too bad. I’m using extra time to work on my portfolio.

With age comes more

I passed a birthday and I guess I’m supposed to be wiser. Too bad. I did do a lot of growing up in the past year, however I don’t think I’ll ever be what we call ‘grown-up’. Then again it is impossible to tell the future.

I forgot about my birthday and said yes to working on the day. How much fun is that, not. Next day the fam went out for sushi. Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Fresh and delicious.

The flaming thing was absolutely amazing. It made the whole experience that much more exciting.

Yesterday I had my annual tea party. Forgot to take pics so all I have of the whole night is these pics.

Alisa helped me make a LOT of cupcakes. They all happened to match Murray (in green).Love Oxana in the last photo. More people need to have fantastic sisters like mine.

Thanx a lot to everyone for all your wonderful gifts. I will treasure them.

Ballet-le-le-le-le

Oxana had tickets to the ballet for the family to celebrate my parents’ anniversary. Nobody but me and mom could go so I rang up Alisekon and her mom and made it a girls night out. Here is what we looked like on that night.

Alisa and her mommy

Me and my mommy

Alisa and me

The moms looking hot hot hot.

As a side not, I moved the laptop from my room to the computer room and go on it maybe once every two days at best. I hope this encourages me to sew more. I also got my drivers license and will be out and about a lot more. This year I will seize the summer and have amazing power. Its time to do all I wanted to.

This is the beginning of my selfish life. Nobody will be inspired if I dont do I’ll do what I say Iwill.

Back to Black

The song was not originally the inspiration for the photos, but it ended up being the inspiration I needed to post them. It falls into the category of one of the songs that I stop doing everything to just so that I can listen to it well.

Amy Winehouse – Back to Black

I got this dress on my trip to LA with Oxana back in 2007. I love it to death. It is both sexy, classy, girlie, and tasteful at the same time.

Dress -> Forever21, necklace -> unknown, bra ->blush, belt -> H&M, shoes -> Le Chateau
